In May 2023, Adam Fletcher of Ridley & Hall Solicitors had an idea; to bring back the social element of doing business whilst raising money for charity.
With a strong presence in the five towns area, desire to support the local community and passion for fundraising, Directors Jilly Spiers and Sarah Knight of JS Recruitment made for the ideal supporting partners.
Together with Ridley & Hall Solicitors, Oakworth Financial Planning and Crest Commercial Finance they teamed up to launch Friday Revival.
Friday Revival is a monthly social event inclusive of all businesses in the Five Towns area, designed to foster networking and raise essential funds for charity. With a social focus, Friday Revival aims to create business opportunities as a beneficial by product.
Monthly meet ups at The Robin Hood Inn in Pontefract have been a resounding success enabling the collective to expand the events calendar to include a curry night, live music venue launch, après ski evening and visit to the races. All proceeds from ticket sales are donated to the Prince of Wales Hospice.
Thanks to the dedication of partners and support of local people and businesses, Friday Revival has attracted over 200 attendees, filling hospitality venues during off-peak times, creating valuable opportunities for businesses and community groups to collaborate and raising £4,532 for the Hospice.
The funds raised have been used to purchase a new marquee for Hospice events, having lost the previous one to storm damage, and a specialist bed frame which has helped to improve the quality of care and comfort given to Hospice patients with life-limiting illness.
